Louisbourg Slush Run & Walk Saturday, March 7th, 2009 Registration Desk Registration begins at 9 a.m. on race day with an entry fee of 10 dollars for each runner/walker . Chili Luncheon and awards are to follow the race. The annual slush run is a 5 mile race which starts at 10 a.m. for runners and 9:30 for walkers (3 Mile) at the George D. Lewis School. The half way point of this race will find you turning around near the entrance to the Fortress of Louisbourg site. From here you can trek back to the finish line at the school. The weather as well as the distance can be an obtacle to overcome in this race. It would probably be disappointing to the runners if the race did not have the added dimension of extreme weather. It's a challenge for the heartiest of runners. After the race you can warm up with a nice hot bowl of chili at the George D. Lewis Auditorium.
